Lost Witness
Lost Witness are a stunning new UK Trance Act signed to Data, an offshoot trance label from Ministry of Sound. They consist of three people Simon Paul, Simon Kemper and vocalist Danielle Alexander.
Simon Kemper
Simon is a classically trained and comes form a family of musicians, his parents are big names in Opera. During his teens Simon could be found playing bass with male indie and rock bands in and around Brixton. At the age of 18 he channelled his energies and talent into an engineering course that helped launch his career as a producer and engineer. He went on to work at the Ornoco Studios with the likes of Tricky and Dave Stewart and other smaller studios where he even did a stint of producing an easy listening pan-pipe albums!
Kemper divides his time between creating records and making high powered motorbikes-the latest of which will feature in StreetFighter.
Simon Paul
After abandoning dreams of being a professional footballer to concentrate on music Simon started DJing aged 14 at his brother's club which strangely enough is called Fawlty Towers and is the very building that features in the nation's favourite comic sitcom. In 1986-87 he started a residency at the local nightclubs, Cinderellas and Valbonds, in Maidenhead. He launched himself full on into the house scene and even threw happy hardcore parties at the Streatham Ritzy for a short period. In 1997 he started his own night called 'Wallop' in Reading which has been the home to major names over the years and now plays all over the country at venues such as The Arches, The Temple, Ministry of Sound and the Pussycat Club.
Simon was made label manager for Tidy Trax in 1997 where he met his Lost Witness partner Simon Kemper and they achieved successes with tracks such as 'Fine Night' under the alias of 'Dusk till Dawn' which began life as a bootleg but eventually made it onto the Ministry of Sound Annual and Gatecrasher compilations despite never being commercially released in the U.K. However, it was the track 'Happiness Happening' that brought them to public attention reaching number 18 in the national charts and was followed by the successful release of 'Red Sun Rising'.
Lost Witness: The Album
Lost Witness have an album planned for the early part of next year but refuse to be pigeon holed and aim to keep their music policy very broad in order to produce quality tracks with quality melodic vocals.
