Dune Records

A passion for electronic music and the independent electronic music scene gave birth to Dune Records in the early 90's. In the years that followed Dune Records members have participated in many major electronic and industrial European productions, giving them the experience that serves as a base for their new adventures in today's music styles. Constant research has led to the necessity of an overseas expansion, which Dune has achieved with the creation of an office in the heart of New York City.

In 1998 Dune Records released "Metatoys Vol.1," distributed by CPI/Polygram/Nova Tekk, a project that involves the work of a new group of producers (PYB, Plug Your Brain). "Metatoys Vol.1" is a sampler of the work of PYB and Dune Records and constitutes a starting point for the development of future releases. By the end of the year Dune Records also released Weird Uncle Betty's "In Porn We Trust" in G.A.S. and Scandinavia. This CD's lo-fi beat with samples of heavy guitars, 80's porn movies, and chemical bass lines further defined Dune's interest in new forms of electronica.

More Dune releases from that year include Here's CD "Brooklyn Bank" through Nova Tekk in northern Europe, Invisible Records in the USA, and CPI/Polygram in Italy. Wave Workers Foundation's CD "In The Whirlpool" soon followed, published in the USA/Canada and South America by Pendragon Records at the end of April 1999.

While previous productions receive attention from radios and press, Dune Records and PYB continue to work with many new artists. Transonia's upcoming release (during the second half of 2000) blends electronic romanticism with a deep groove base. Other releases will include the debut album of Left-Right, a trip-hop trio with drum 'n' bass influences and Fabba, an abrasive jungle programmer.

In 1999 Dune Records starts to develop a form of electro-pop with the band LIN.
LIN's upcoming CD "La Folie" is a mixture of hip-hop and synthetic pop mutations. LIN's new single release is scheduled for the fall 1999 and will include a remix by Doug Firley of Gravity Kills.

This album will be out before the new millennium!

Stay tuned....... the frequencies of Dune Records are ready for new music styles!!!
