IAN BLAND was the man behind Dream Frequency who signed to CityBeat/XL recordings. Their anthem "Feel so Real" reached number 23 in the national charts in1992. The band performed at many of the first outdoor events including- Amnesia, Galactica and Rezerection in Scotland. With Debbie Sharp providing the vocals they took their sound and stage show to America, Australia and performed to 50,000 at the Tokyo Dome, Japan at the first ever rave!!
Ian was also one half of Dancing Divaz who with partner Nick Worthington (XL Records AR) notched up over 55 highly successful remixes including: The Original, Baby D, Prince, Louise, Sash! Queen and many more. They released "Kick up the Volume" on XL Records, under the name of DJ Rob Tissera. It received massive club support.
Ian produces Steve Thomas (resident at Trade) for Tripoli Trax. They have had several releases, and together with Nick Worthington they remix as The Experts.
Ian is also one half of QUAKE with DJ Rob Tissera, they are signed to FFRR/London Records. Their first single �The Day Will Come� received massive club support and did well in DJ and Mixmag charts, as well as in the national. As QUAKE, they have 3 tracks in the successful film �Human Traffic� these are on the soundtrack compilation.
DJ NIPPER was a household name, successfully pulling in the crowds through 1983 and onwards. He started on the club circuit in and around Manchester at venues like The Hacienda and Man Alive. He went on to DJ at Hacketts, Shaboo, Shelleys and Quadrant Park. Paul toured with names like 808 State, Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, Njoy, The Shamen and BassHeads to name a few!!
He then signed to Warp Records as Kid Unknown, releasing the successful track "Nightmare" Paul then took a year out in Thailand and on his return took up residence at The Hacienda and played at countless outdoor events up and down the country and many, many club venues. Signed to Polydor as Nipper, he released "Dope on wax" as well as other tracks through independent labels.
He set up Da Bunk studios in Manchester, which led to him meeting up with Ian again, which was to be the start of their working partnership.
Their own label LCD RECORDS have had nine releases to date including the very successful club tune "Rise on Up" by Dejure which was licensed throughout Europe, The follow up 'Sanctuary'~ Dejure was licensed to Spot On! Records with DJ Seb Fontaine, released on the 11th October 1999. 'Sanctuary' is on the Ministry of Sound Annual 5 and Dave Pearce's Anthems Cd.
The new Dejure single �Do you believe� was also taken by Spot On! Records.
